In our commitment to fiscal transparency, the open data portal provides you reporting of financial resources allocated to support Office of Broadband projects serving County constituents. The projects detailed below include Public Wi-Fi sites to residents at community centers, libraries and parks throughout the county; Wi-Fi Buses/Signal Boosters in areas of greatest need; LTE sites for students through partnering ISDs and other high need populations; Comcast Internet Essentials which helps underserved families secure internet connectivity to their home at no cost; and unlimited data hotspot connections for students from SISD, HISD, and AISD for students and parents alike to connect, work and innovate. To support these projects, the Office of Broadband has received $18.4M of funds.
